The MUSA pants are great for touring and camping. Choose a base layer
depending on the weather, and pull the always comfortable MUSA over. Bonus
that that pack so small and light you can sneak luxuries into the pannier /
back pack you may otherwise leave home.

Probably were too well made for Riv's bottom line. I've had mine for more
than 6 years now. Only noticed Riv had dropped them after a campfire*
mishap burnt a hole in one of my two pair.

Taylor Stitch will be coming out with some pants later this month that
sound similar to MUSA. According to the blurb these will also be made in
the Bay Area. Possibly by the same company that made MUSA? I've got a
pair on pre-order and my fingers crossed.

*When I camp alone I do not have camp fires. Last September my nephew
joined my brother and me on a trip to Glacier. He complained about his
knees when we hiked, watched movies on his iPhone on a perfectly clear
night instead of walking down to Bowman Lake beach to star gaze, and
insisted on building campfires one of which damaged my MUSA pants. Kids
these days!
