Bill did you learn that way, or did you not have a choice? Flat pedals give you a choice of what shoes you wear. If you were riding clipless, I promise there were shanks in your shoes that were supporting your arches - they're built into the shoes. . This isn't my vendor, we came to the same conclusion independently.
