I am with Rene. As an adult, who understands the traffic laws in PA, I have had more near misses at 4 way stops signs than any other place I can think of. The combination of distraction, speed, confusion and ignorance of the law, makes them an area ripe for trouble.
I have related the story before but I had a lady in a Land Rover run right through her stop, just as I was entering the intersection, it was legally my turn. I was able to brake and shout "Hey!" at which point she looked up from her phone and flipped me the finger. She cruised right through the intersection and kept on going. I would have been summarily squished by a large SUV if I was not paying attention and able to react in time.
