We charge half down because of the clientele we serve. If we charged full pop up front we'd lose not only the business for the special order but also the additional business that often comes when the special order part gets picked up. It is amazing how many customers tell us "money is so tight", then make several additional (unplanned?) purchases when the special part arrives. Amazing. Beth
