I've done that too, with all sorts of bags, but it's too inconvenient (for me, personally) -- I want a carrier that I can shove things in, cover up, and click or strap closed. And I'll bet that the family sized 2 gallon bag of Cheez Doodles won't take kindly to being cinched down on top of the bag. (OK, I don't eat Cheez Doodles or Cheese Puffs or what have you, but I do like the occasional bag of tortilla chips or potato chips.)
Really, the pair of Ortlieb Roller Packers at 40 litres is entirely big enough, but I am a not-apparently-recovering bag fetishist and I am telling my story.
