Yep, we called it the river bed in LA. I remember it as a very isolated and spooky place when I was a kid, but that may reflect on what LA/Long Beach was like as a whole in the '70s. I saw that pic of Leah trying to walk down into it and I was like, "Don't go in there, Leah!"
