Joe: Because I rode my bike to work when the original bolt broke. It broke just as i was pulling in so I had to jury rig a replacement to get home. The fix seemed to work and so I never got around to replacing it. The two breaks were about a year apart. Since the bolt sheared off twice in the same manner I originally thought it might have something to due with my saddle placement or other factors.
