I'm not running BA's yet, but over the past couple years, I've been spending more time off road with smooth tires (Jack Browns and Paselas). I'm really coming to the conclusion that with some practice and mindfullness, tire placement and weight distribution covers 85-90% of the situations successfully. Sticking with smooth tires has made me ride a bit differently, but I've found few drawbacks. Of course, that last 10-15% can be pretty interesting. The area where things go well and truly awry... But, if you aren't where you need dune buggy tires, the big contact patch that round profile tires provide (and I do find the JB's noticeably better vs the Paselas) on trails work well. It does make your fore/aft weight placement more critical. - J -- Jim Edgar [email protected] Cyclofiend Bicycle Photo Galleries - http://www.cyclofiend.com Current Classics - Cross Bikes Singlespeed - Working Bikes Gallery updates now appear here - http://cyclofiend.blogspot.com -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "RBW Owners Bunch" group.
