I hate to be the grammar police, but stradale does not mean road in Italian, in the way that I think you intend it. Stradale is an adjective, as in "incidente stradale" (road accident) or "carta stradale" (road map).
The noun for road is strada, as is employed in Hampsten's "Strada bianca".
