The newspaper shot is of me eating a cookie. All these years of riding, and the news media find me eating a cookie to be the only newsworthy bit. Our local advocacy group, Bike Pittsburgh (http://www.bike-pgh.org) had done a great job in generating activity for the day. There was a free coffee / breakfast thing near my starting point and a bike repair / breakfast / gathering at the work end. Now, if I hadn't crashed on the descent into town, it would have been a perfect day. At least the panniers kept my Brooks from getting any road rash. Me - not so lucky.
