Hello fellow Rivendell Riders. I have yet more stuff I'd like to clear out from my garage, so here's my new For Sale list. Please respond to me directly, not the whole list! First come, first served. Thanks!
NOTE: All details and photos of ALL the items are at this link: http://www.adventurecorps.com/forsale/index.html Note I am including many items which are from the collection of RAAM founder John Marino. Those parts therefore date to 1978 through 1984, which was when he crossed American three times in Guinness Book World Record Attempts (successfully in 1978 and 1980), then in the 1982 Great American Bike Race, and finally in the 1984 Race Across America. John is my long-time friend and mentor. I own and restored his custom Mike Melton (with "Huffy" decals) from the 1982 GABR and it is featured in Jan Heine's book "The Competition Bicycle." I will have many more of his parts, especially French parts, in the next round of sales, probably next week. Dura Ace Ace 7800 53 tooth chain ring. Lightly used. $30. Cinelli M71 pedals, no cleats, used, but very good condition. No cleats. $30. From the collection of RAAM founder John Marino. Dura Ace AX shifters, New In Box, complete. For top mount on the down tube. $30. (two photos). From the collection of RAAM founder John Marino. Dura Ace 7400 braze-on front derailleur. Very good condition. $30. Tektro front brake caliper, black color, never used, long reach (I measure the reach at 50 to 70mm, approximately), no brake pads. This unlike any Tektros currently on the market. They are most similar to the R538, but there's no "hole" in the one arm. Allen-nutted for recessed mounting. I had used a pair juse like this one them to convert a 700c bike to 650B. $15. (Note, I have used "rear" brakes in the front by putting the allen nut inside the fork crown.) Also note: I sold a pair of these on this list recently. Same brake as that pair. Ritchey skewers, used, with external cams. $5. Dura Ace headset, new in package, for threaded 1" steerer. This is modern, perhaps 5 years old. $30. An unusual bottom bracket cup with lock ring. Don't know what it is, but if you do, and can use it, it's $3. (two photos) From the collection of RAAM founder John Marino. Two sets "Cyclo" bolt-on saddle bag loops, for saddle which don't have loops. One pair mounted and removed without using. One pair still in the package. $10 per pair. American Classic water bottle cage hardware, still in package. $3. A curious Stronglight bottom bracket which is surprisingly light, considering its appearance. Spins nicely. Vintage late 70s to early 80s. From the collection of RAAM founder John Marino. Says "Stronglight France Brevette 35 x 100" on it. $30. (four photos) Dura Ace 7401 rear deraillaur. Says "6S 7S SIS" on the cage as it will work with 6-speed or 7-speed (likely 8-speed, too, but I don't know that for a fact). Good condition, but there is a crack in one pulley (which would guess would continue working, anyway). $20. (two photos) TA classic water bottle cage "tops." These tended to fall off, so if you have one of those awesome cages that needs a new "top," here's your chance. Used, but fine. $3 each in gold, black, or blue. Skymounti Inclinometer. MSRP $25. Mine is used, but excellent. $10. Three bottom bracket axles which say "3SB Cr-Mo 83 -G" on one and "3SB Cr-Mo 83 -J" on two. 121mm long and the bearing "flanges" are 50mm apart, center to center. Lightly used. $5 each or $10 for all three. >From the collection of RAAM founder John Marino. Stronglight 148 Bottom Bracket Axle "Marque Deposes" stamped. Also says "11 76 P". 148mm long and the bearing "flanges" are 54mm apart, center to center. Used but very good. $10. (two photos) Shimano Dura Ace cassette cog, from the 7-speed era of the late 80s. 24 tooth. Excellent, except for some sticky gunk. $2. 3.5 pair of Dia Compe Aero Grand Comp brake pads. New old stock. No allen mounting bolts. $3 each. From the collection of RAAM founder John Marino. Specialized hubs, freewheel style, used, but very good. (I swear these hubs last forever.) 36 holes each, rear is 126mm. $30. Trois Etoiles spokes and nipples, with original boxes. 298mm length. How many? I don't know, but if you are a serious buyer and need to know, I will count them. "Lots," though! $10. From the collection of RAAM founder John Marino. Shimano Dura Ace 9-speed 12x27 cassette. Excellent, lightly used. $40. Shimano 7-speed 13x27 HG Hyperglide cassette. Lower end, used, but perfectly useable. $10. Grab-On handlebar pads / grips, So 1982!!! New old stock in package. $5. From the collection of RAAM founder John Marino. Shimano Dure Ace 9-speed down-tube shifters, 7700, New old stock in package. $30. Shimano Dura Ace AX Seat Post, 25.0 ROUND (not tear drop all the way down). Very good condition. No scratches, just some scuffs. $30. Shimano Dura Ace AX Seat Post, AERO SHAPE all the way down. New Old Stock in Original Box. Note: there were at least two types of these tear drop-shaped posts: one had a blunter back side, and one had a pointier back side. Frames were built with tear drop-shaped tubing which fit one OR the other style. THIS ONE has the pointier rear side. >From the collection of RAAM founder John Marino. $50. (two photos) Shimano 105 aero brake levers (BL 1055). Excellent condition; just one small scratched area. $25. Shimano Santé aero brake levers (BL 5001). Very good to excellent conditon, but missing one tiny, round plastic part. If you look in the second photo, you see the part where the brake cable head sits. On the left is a plastic washer, for lack of a better term. That is missing on one lever. $5. (two photos) Shimano 8-speed 12x26 cassette, probably Ultegra level. Used, grimey, but very good condition. $15. Shimano 8-speed 11x28 cassette, probably Ultegra level. Lightly used. $30. Sachs Maillard 8-speed 12x21 freewheel. Never used or, I think, mounted. $20. (on right in photo below, sitting next to the next item) Regina Extra 8-speed 12x24. A little dirty, but I think it is unused. $20. (on left in photo below, sitting next to the above item) Shimano 600 cranks, FC 6207, 170mm, with 42/53 Biopace rings. Good to very good condition. $25. Shimano Dura Ace AX front and rear brake calipers, complete. Set One of Two: three photos. Very good to excellent condition. $85. Shimano Dura Ace AX front and rear brake calipers, complete. Set Two of Two: three photos. Very good to excellent condition, except the two barrel adjusters are stuck. Perhaps they would break loose if soaked overnight in WD40 or similar. $75. Time MD Pedals, New Old Stock in original packaging, complete with cleats and paperwork. $30. Sampson Stratics Titanium pedals, in original box: both pedals, lightly used, plus one smashed up cleat, and decals. Axles don't currently turn. $5. Shimano 105 hubset, still in original box, 36 hole, 7-speed cassette, "FH 1051". Hubs never laced up. Anodized grey. Includes six cogs with three spacers. 126mm rear hub. $30. (three photos) Simplex Rear Derailleur (Jubilee??) LONG-CAGE, never used, excellent condition. Missing the bolt for bolting it to the dropout. From the collection of RAAM founder John Marino. $60. (three photos) Shimano Biopace 52 tooth chainring, anodized gray, lightly used. $4. Shimano Dura Ace 42 tooth chainring, lightly used, from the 7401/2 ear. $5. (two photos) Cobra Profil aero-shaped water bottle and cage, complete, new in original packaging. (I have two complete sets.) $30 each. Suntour Superb Pro 42 tooth chainring, very lightly used. $10. (two photos) Ritchey 1" threaded headset, black. Well used, but perfectly functional. $3. Shimano Dura Ace rear cassette hub. Unusual flanges with paired spokes. I think this is the "Direction 6" version of this hub from about 1982. 126mm. A little bit grimey, but I am 95% sure this was never built up. $35. Shimano Ultegra FO 6500 170mm cranks with 39/53 chainrings, plus matching bottom bracket. Used but very good condition. $75. Shimano Biopace chainrings: 44 and 52. $3 each or $5 for the pair. Grimey, but lightly used. $10 Shimano 105 down tube shifters, 7-speed. Excellent, possibly unused. Complete. $10. Tange Falcon headset, 1", threaded. Used but perfectly usable. $5. Shimano Deore XT Mega Drivetrain M750 mountain bike front derailleur. Clamp-on for 28.6mm seat tube. Little or no use. $10. (two photos) Tange Levin headset, 1", threaded, complete. Used but very good. I this came from one of my XO-1s. $5. Dia-Compe 986 cantilever brakes, complete front and rear (enough for one whole bike). Never used. I am pretty sure these were taken off my 1993 XO-1. $30. (two photos) Rtichey cantilevers, black, one pair, used but good. Probably made by Dia-Compe.
