My Bombadil came that way, and after a summer right next to the salt water of the Intracoastal Waterway at the Jersey Shore it began to show some rust spots. Others with clear powder have had good experiences,though, I think. If it won't get constant exposure to salt air, go for it if you like the look. I thought it looked great.
