It was always my understanding that your going about it the wrong way. Should be RCP first then repaint. To take off the paint that is there now, you would need to use some sort of sandblasting, and the raw metal underneath would lose its "raw" look. You would still see the beauty of the brazing, but the tubes would have a nice even "sanded" look to them.
