It should be fairly easy for you to do that experiment if you are interested. I would like to hear how it comes out if you do. Also though 4 lbs is 4 lbs, the significance of those 4 lbs varies with the situation. Adding 4 lbs to a car means nothing, adding 4 lbs to a motorcycle would be hard (or impossible) to detect by feel, adding 4 lbs to a 30 lb bike is going to be less noticeable than adding 4 lbs to a 16 lb bike. And of course when you are trying to close a gap jumping out of a corner, 4 lbs on your rims/tires is quite different from 4 lbs on your frame.
