I've been thinking about the midge for an off-road bar lately too. In
some ways it seems "almost" perfect, but my problem is that the
short lower drop extensions seem way too short to fit my hands
securely. So I found a product called "Terminators" from Control
Tech ( http://www.controltechbikes.com/english/examples/a_endplugs.php
) that might fix THAT problem by adding length, but at the expense of
being able to use bar end shifters. So then you'd have to use
brifters or, my favorite, "Take-Offs" by Kelly (
http://kellybike.com/2nd_xtra_takeoff.html
) with silver shifters. I'm just not sure the later option would work
due to the angled brake lever mounting position. I'd sure love it if
you would try this combination out and report back, though! ;-)
