The last time I did a brevet, I saw everything from one or two Frenchish rando bikes of the style advocated by Jan, to numerous MMCRBs, and a strong representation of Rivs. I tried to ride with a guy on an Atlantis, but he was too fast for me. Even on brevets, there is no one kind of bike. The fastest finishers don't ride one kind of bike.
