I've only used ramped and pinned chainrings for a brief while, and didn't like them. They were TA Zephyrs. The ramps protruded so that the chain would rub using my 36t middle and the 13t small, seventh cog on my freewheel.
As far as mileage on Sugino rings, I don't track my miles. My base reference for long lasting rings are Campy rings of the 70's and 80's. They just lasted and lasted and lasted. On my Stumpjumper of 1983, it came with a 46t Sugino ring that didn't last very long, nor did any replacement big ring I put on it and I rode it a lot less than my road bike. The 26 and 36 lasted much longer, but I didn't use them as much either. Even on my Bombadil, the Sugino 36t rings seems to last fairly well, but the 48t does not. I use the 36t more . After reading some of the Surly rings, I'm not so sure their quality is all that great or not. I see many mixed experiences and even failing. ouch. Does anyone know of 7075 rings in 110 that are NOT ramped and pinned ? 36t and 48t . -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "RBW Owners Bunch" group.
