As I was riding to work this morning I remembered I made another change.
After I replaced the stem with the shorter one, it wasn't long before I
realized that my current saddle was not going to work in the more upright
position. So I removed the seat along with the zero setback seat post,
something I had added before to reduce stretch, and replaced it with the
original Kalloy set back seat post and Brooks B-17. So, in all honesty, it
was the combination of a shorter stem and a set back seat post that changed
the handling characteristics. Not surprising. Hence this threads title
change.
