The discrepancy is not too odd... a lot of what determines "optimal" pressure for a given tire and weight combo is also frame geometry and compliance. I find with my Shogun I need to keep the front tire at least 5 psi higher, sometimes 10 psi, than on my Rawland for each bike to give me a comparable road feel and steering response.
