Thank you for your reply. I've read about some additional issues in disabling 
DEP (some were having trouble re-enabling it...) and the application is for 
distribution anyway.

Has there been any talk about rebuilding the dcom server in .NET by any chance? 
Doubt I'd be much help, but I'd assist in any way I can. I would assume as well 
that things might get easier for the RExcel package if they could build it as a 
standard excel add-in... which I think are all now in .NET.

Unfortunately, I have not yet experienced this problem (or maybe I 
should say "fortunately" ;-).

I've just done a quick search on Google and it seems that this error may 
be caused by different problems. DEP is one of them. Maybe you could try 
to disable DEP for testing purposes as shown in
