Some time ago there was a debate about using RC aircraft, planes, and
helicopters.

Now I've been rubbing the brain cells together(all three of them) and
concluded that.

1 Things that fly are dangerous (not just the don't try this at home,
but really dangerous).
2 Some sort of aircraft representation would be GREAT FUN, and if the
'making a film' also talked about on this forum took off so to
speak.......D day landings with aircover here we come!
3 Propellers can kill. I realise this looks alot like item one, but it
is sooo important it's worth mentioning again.

ok so how do we achieve this saftley..........

What I envisage is, before the start of a battle, any air activity
would be prebooked, with who ever is in charge, noting where the
aircraft travel from and to(this is a straight line, representing a
straffing/bombing run if you like) and what time into the battle it
takes place.
When the apropriate time comes, the tank battle halts, and the
straffing/bombing run is set up.
Now the complicated bit.
Aircraft would fly on a wire (hay I've invent fly by wire) accross the
battle field, suppoerted at both ends on a frame work or similar(they
would only have to be supperted 5 or 6 foot above the ground), a
constant speed would be etential for planes, helis could be varried.
Bombs dropped and missiles/rockets fired by RC
To represent the increased mobility of helis they could be on a
rotating mount, alowing them to pivot left and right.
Rockets could be represented by the usuall paintball gun.
Bombs are probably best represented by thin tissue paper bombs (like
the tissue papper used to cover the very small lightweight model
aircraft), filled with floor, or talc powder. A direct hit being worth
two hits, splater damage being worth one hit. Then the tank battle may
recomence

Actually, one other brain cell has fired up as I write this, and
thinks two of those A frame step ladder thingys, maybe hammered into
the ground abit, would be enough to suspend a wire between for the
aircraft to fly along.

I think thats just about described it, as best I can.
