I so I went to gear driven and have a fine toothed ring gear on the turret and drive sprocket on the motor. There is just enough 'slop' in the lazy susan to allow the teeth to disengage. I ended up having to put a tensioner gear with a fairly heavy spring, opposite of the motor to hold the lazy susan in place. Not the best solution but a solution none the less.
