Why don't you just use 1 EV instead of 2 and keep the clutch thingie inside?
Or would the EVs not give enough power? If they didn't you may be able to
open up the casing and make a case and make a double motor. Maybe this motor
is large enough (I wouldn't really know as I just looked for the biggest one
there was)

Erp, that actually looks a bit expensive, but still, an interesting motor,
they used it for in an RC plane with a 12 foot wingspan.
