Stop giving out bad info. Some of us have actually built multiple
tracks using Smooth-Cast 300 and it simply doesn't cost as much as you
indicate. Chris B. can probably confirm these numbers as well:
1) It takes less than 1 gallon of resin to make 2 complete tracks with
inside and outside treads. In fact, John and Paul are currently
building 4 small tracks and they'll be using less than 1.5 gallons for
all 4 tracks.
2) A gallon-size Smooth-Cast 300 (2 1-gallon parts) costs $82.00
3) Both rubber tread molds (inner and outer) can be made using the Trial
Size of OOMOO 25. Such molds don't require much rubber, because the
treads aren't very thick.
4) A trial size of 00MOO 25 costs $25.00
5) You don't really need mold release for OOMOO 25 because treads aren't
very complicated and OOMOO doesn't really stick too much. Use a couple
coats of wax on the plug and you'll have no problem. We've never had a
problem with the resin sticking to the mold. In fact, the resin doesn't
cure as well if you use mold release.
Total Price: $107.00 + shipping + tax.
