tonight i started cutting out the aluminum plate to make the housing. it
wasn't too bad, i got as far as cutting out the 2 bases and started cutting
the face plates only to have run out of batteries (went through 4 of them)
using the saber saw. was trying to think of how long i've had these
batteries (maybe 3 years?).

anyway....

i have the 2 base pieces cut and cleaned up. due to the limited lighting in
the garage, the cut wasn't as straight as i would have liked it to have
been, so some filing was required. the reason being is i need these base
plates to be 3-3/8" wide (i think that's what they measured) as that's how
long
the motors are (i plan to sandwich them between the front and back
plates). with any luck, i'll get the other 4 plates cut and cleaned up
tomorrow
then drill and tap them so i can bolt them together. i'm not sure if i'll be
able to drill the holes needed for the bushings, motor and such as i burned
out a few of my drills making them 2 steel pieces for the marker mount
(had them drill for a while too, they were bought for dad and he's been gone
for 10 years now), so i'll need to get a new set soon. but i'll still bring
what i have done on them this weekend.

sorry, no pictures yet
