didn't get much done on it today (was fighting with a replacement screen
door) other than drilling and taping a few holes on one side of the housing.

I would have kept going tonight (just came up from the basement now), but i
must have the crap version of the T-handle thingie that holds the tap as
it loves to let the tap spin. so if i have the funds tomorrow, i'm going to
go look for a better one (if they exist).

i'm also going to have to get some 1/2" long bolts as the 3/4" i was using
for the tracks will be a bit too long for this (would have loved to have
used 3/4" but tapping that deep in aluminum seems impossible).

also, does tapping aluminum dull the tap? just wondering .....

i would have taken pictures this time, but a loose fitting set of plates
and bolts sticking out does look like much to me at this time ..... (more
like the making of something Steampunked)
