that was close........ thought i screwed up big time

i went down to drill out what holes i could in the plates and started out
with the 3/8" bit to drill 3 holes. i taped the front and back plates
together so i wouldn't have to do everything twice and hope it lines up. after
i
started the first hole i was thinking about the hole for the bushing where
one of the reduction sprockets will be mounted and then thought, crap, i'm
using a 3/8" drill, i need 1/2 for the bushing, so i changed the drill to
1/2" and drilled the hole out, then moved the plates to drill the next hole.
i just started drilling it when i realize the mistake i was about to make
- again! the drill should have been a 3/8" as i was only drilling out for
the bolt holes for mounting the motor! crap crap crap.........

i drilled the next 2 with the 3/8" and then figure out where the 1/2" hole
should be and drilled it. i cleaned them off, took the tape off and mounted
the one plate in place, then grabbed a motor sat it in place and them
mounted the face plate. the motor's bolt holes look fine (other than one being
a bit too big now) and line up just right, and the sprocket holes, well,
i'll know better once i get a piece of 3/8 rod this week and install it. then
i'll set it into the tank hull just to get an idea of surrounding space
(and how badly that motor for turning the turret is in the way).

so maybe another day or two and i'll have pictures for you to see.
