Forget the lazy susan approach ... it just doesn't work.
For the sturdiest, most reliable turret mount:
1) Get a 1" OD pipe or tube and mount a flange on one end.
2) Get two 1" ID bearings and mount one above the deck and one below the
deck at the center of turret rotation.
3) Place the pipe/tube through the bearings and attach to the turret
base at the center of rotation.
4) Mount 4 ball-bearing casters to the top of the deck (or bottom of the
turret base) on a circle large enough to support the turret. See:
http://www.wttool.com/index/page/product/product_id/15667/name/Ball+Bearing+Casters+WT
for an example (although that particular one is probably too large).
The ball-bearing casters support the weight of the turret and the two
center bearings ensure that it turns properly. The 1" pipe allows
plenty of room to run cables between the hull and turret. Best of all,
the turret can be taken off simply by pulling it up. Gravity usually
suffices to keep it in place, but you can always add a set-screw, pin or
collar below the deck to lock it in place.

Still making my M1A1 1/6 and its huge, problem I have is the turret
rotation, many others have used a lazy susan but my turret will be to
large for it, looking for a dia of about 12" any suggestions?
