Chris,
Going to the "Visit the group at . . " section at the bottom of the email took 
me to a different page.  From there, searching on "suspension spring" resulted 
in 245 email threads from this group over several years.  Maybe the answer is 
in there.

I thought this had been discussed quite a bit already with spring rates and I 
think Steve and Frank had a few ideas about it as well.  I can't search here at 
work but a quick search should turn up exactly what you are looking for.
