Springs are a tricky buisness. My idler wheels had a pair of the stiffest springs our local Ace store had, but when the Sherman would make hard turns they would depress completely and throw the track. I solved this by getting another set of springs the same length but smaller diameter and slipping it inside the original, thus incresing the resistance and tension on the track. It now works perfectly. Is there a chance a solution such as this would work for you difficulties?
