Does anyone have an opinion on driving thru Washington DC on the way to
Gettysburg?  I'm coming up on I-95, and the shortest route with blue roads
takes me to 495 around DC, then 270 north thru Frederick, MD.  To avoid I-95 in
DC, I could also take 17 west out of Fredericksburg, VA, but that will add
miles to the trip and be on yellow roads.

Would it be a bad idea to stay on I-95 and 495?   I'd probably be going thru
there at 6PM on Friday.  Would the stop and go on 495 be better than all the
little towns on yellow roads?
