Any 5-6 channel radio will work. There are high end, high priced computerized adjustable ones if you have the bucks, but I've had good luck with my Hobby King 6 channel radio ($30 with transmitter and receiver, buy servos separatey for $8) in my tank (T080) and in sailboats. I've heard that the USB link adjustable Hobby King radio was not easy to hook to a computer reliably. My plain jane, not computerized Hobby King 6 works fine. The 5 switches on the front of my transmitter allow 4 of the channels to be reversed making easy setup, and there is a mixing switch for channels 1 and 2 that works well driving a tank.
You can use most radios without modifying them with swiches. My right stick drives the tank, and my left stick elevates and rotates the turret. There was a toggle switch on top that would be an OK firing button, but I changed mine to a push button. Are there any controllers with a trigger to conveniently hooking up the gun? -- You are currently subscribed to the "R/C Tank Combat" group.
