Add in an IR camera, an IR flashing beacon on friendlies, and don't shoot
within X feet of a friendly.

I thought of a way to do Auto-Target acquisition.
Tanks generally run hotter than either the terrain or operators, due to motor
heat and the sun. So all you need to do to get a tank to shoot another one
automatically is to put a thermal camera on there, and use the Open-source
Sentry Gun software to shoot at anything hotter than 100 degrees F. No way to
avoid friendly fire though.

Please purchase laser protective goggles for all attendees at Tank Expo
2014. Also please rake ALL leaves that have fallen at the Tri-Pact
Proving Grounds to prevent accidental ignition by our 300 mW IR laser
during outdoor testing.

I was actually thinking of sticking a 250w YAG laser in the barrel. 120mm Gun
at 1/6 scale is just big enough for the rod and flash tubes.
