Tanks generally run hotter than either the terrain or operators, due to motor heat and the sun. So all you need to do to get a tank to shoot another one automatically is to put a thermal camera on there, and use the Open-source Sentry Gun software to shoot at anything hotter than 100 degrees F. No way to avoid friendly fire though. Please purchase laser protective goggles for all attendees at Tank Expo 2014. Also please rake ALL leaves that have fallen at the Tri-Pact Proving Grounds to prevent accidental ignition by our 300 mW IR laser during outdoor testing.
