My understanding of "transferred to digital printing" is that the publisher has converted in-house the typography originally presented in mechanical form to a digital equivalent. As a process internal to the publishing house, I am not certain why they feel it is necessary to identify this, unless it is an advertisement of their technological advancement. I have treated it just as I would a new print run, which is to say that I ignore it.
