Doesn't look like an issue with rdiff-backup. Apart from power supply,
I would consider failing fan(s) or a local network problem (cable?).
After those I guess it is motherboard or CPU. You could try installing
lm_sensors, might help diagnose a fan (temperature) or power supply
(voltage) issue.
