I use a Honda EU 2000 as my only generator. It only gets around 2 tanks a year on it.
However in terms of fuel efficiency, you can't beat the ecothrottle units ( honda, yamaha, )just amazing, better than diesel, and way better than propane. But really only good for small usage. If you are going to be using it a lot, then the gas part gets bad ( carrying it around etc)
I highly recommend them to folks for power outages. I find it easier and cheaper to run some extension cords, to power what you need.
Cheap, portable, quiet, reliable and super efficient.
