The Polar Power units have variable output charging. Lots more smarts than just float charge. Very good integrated automatic generator starting and stopping. Our customers haven't been very impressed with the super capacitor for starting.

I haven't check to see if the output voltage is adjustable, or suitable
for charging batteries in renewable energy systems. Considering the
market for these, the normal unit is probably set up to provide a float
charge voltage.
