Bill,
That's the way I have done it for twenty years, more or less. I have never had a communication issue as a result, with any brand or application.
Keep in mind that the RTS is simply providing a varying voltage to the sense terminals, not producing a signal that might be corrupted by stray current.
The biggest issues I have had have been related to replacement years later - either of the RTS because it failed, or by the need to replace it with another unit because of a system upgrade. Either may require pulling the battery cables, removing conduit seal, or running the replacement outside of the conduit. RJ11 plugs are hard little buggers to pull past bigrubber cables.

Bob,

To clarify, I'd like to run RTS sensor wires from an MX or FX through a three foot long, 2" flexible metal conduit that also has both of the pos and neg 4/0 battery-to-inverter cables in it.  I was wondering about the effect of the RF, EMF or whatever else might have on the RTS wires for that 3 feet and the signal imposed (or not)back to the MX or FX.  I usually stick the RTS itself on one of the battery cases in the middle of the pack.

Thanks,

Bill

Hate to ask, but, is it on the negative terminal?

Hey folks,

Has anyone found a problem running a RTS cable in FMC conduit with the battery-to-inverter cables?

Thanks,
