Increasing KO size voids warranty.  In the past, SMA might repair a dead
modified inverter, if possible, but would not exchange one.  The logistical
difference is, you have to send your modified defective inverter in and
wait instead of receiving a refurbished replacement promptly.

Wrenchers,

            This particular install requires 6 Gauge for the AC output from
a few SB7.7......-41 inverters (for voltage drop). Pretty tight for the
3/4" knock-outs in that inverter.  Any harm in using a step-drill to open
it up to a 1" KO?  Any experiences with this?  I'm trying to avoid a J-box
with a transition to 8 Gauge with 4-14 Polaris connectors.
