I know its not the same equipment, but we recently had a Magnum
autostart doing strange things, and it turns out we had it set up for
the wrong generator configuration. With all the different types of
starting configurations on all the different generators, strange things
can happen.
We're actually considering taking the advice of a recent Wrench post,
and declaring that our insurance doesn't cover AGS. If it starts when
it shouldn't and possibly contributes to a fire? very bad. If it
doesn't start when it should and causes refrigerated food to spoil and
heating systems to go down? also very bad.
I get more call backs for AGS, then any other thing, and its usually a
generator issue (which we didn't sell).

Hello Tump
You may want to go into the aux setpoints on the inverter being used
to signal a gen run condition and check to see
how it is programmed. It could be that the aux is being instructed to
turn on
by the aux setpoints as set in the inverter.
If AGS tells it to turn on great but if inside the inverters aux
programming some parameters are being met that tell the 12 volt aux to
active then seemingly random gen runs can occur.
Depending on age and the firmware of the inverter there are 9 or more
programmable conditions that can trigger the 12 volt aux. At one point
there was a setpoint called Remote which told the inverter some other
device other than you is in control of your auxiliary output.
If you do not see a Remote setting you might try setting the
inverters aux to Vent Fan then set the trigger point (Battery Voltage)
to a condition that is impossible to achieve. I have a 48 volt system
and I can set the Vent Fan trigger point up to 72VDC this will ensure
the AGS is the only way the 12 volt Aux can be activated.
I left a message on your phone if you continue to have issues please
call me.
Take Care Sir

*Subject:* [RE-wrenches] Mate3 verses Mate3S
I have a client w/ 8 stack of older VFX3648s, Off Grid. Presently
connected to a Mate 3 & older hub 10. The generator run time/shut
down time is never the same, sometimes 10+ hours of running while the
inverters in “silent” mode. Gen stays running despite full batteries,
confirmed by battery voltage & using my refractometer.
The only "gen trigger" is battery voltage. I have cleared the history
repeatedly & updated the Mate3 FW.
Is there any conflict replacing the Mate 3 with the Mate 3S in an
older system?
I will be also changing out the Hub as well. Thoughts/suggestions
