And can't you just wire up the new inverter as a "dumb" battery charger only? If you don't need to double KW to loads, don't try to stack it, or connect it to the hub. Just cable it to the batteries, and wire the genny to it's AC in. NO AC out wiring. When genny is running, it should charge fine. A last resort.
