Teddy,
One
day I will have to tell you the story of getting everyone updated to the
latest version of Flash at the BBC. Then again... Perhaps it will take two
days......

Kyle,
SVN is not hard to use. A very common SVN client is Tortoise SVN and it is two or three steps before you have a recent copy of the product. You an get the client and use the "Check Out" from your right-click (Windows User). It will prompt you for the SVN address and then you select the folder branches you want and viola! It starts downloading.
I would also recommend SVN over CVS for your own code versioning. I have had an easier time with SVN.

Why would you expect someone to go to the trouble of zipping up a
distribution for you when you can so easily access it via SVN? Serious
question. If you're not using a version control system for your own
code, you should be - consider this an opportunity to get familiar
with SVN.
