It is a real bummer really. I have been trying several frameworks and applications just to find one that works with BlueDragon.
It's not the frameworks that are the problem here :) Fusebox 5.0 does not work with BD 6.2.1 without a hotfix that New Atlanta provided shortly after FB5 shipped. Fusebox 5.1 does not work with BD 6.2.1 at all - New Atlanta said they won't fix the bug that prevents that and Vince was comfortable with requiring BD7 for FB51 (even tho' BD7 hasn't shipped in a final release yet). I checked in with Vince for both of those Fusebox releases to make sure they knew about the issues and find out what they wanted to do here. Back in the day, I discovered neither cfcUnit nor Tartan worked on BD6.x because it did not support WEB-INF.cftags.component as an argument type. Initially, New Atlanta claimed that was undocumented. I provided Vince with references to the type in several places in the CFMX docs and a later release of BD6.x added support for it. The fact is that nearly all of the framework authors use CFMX and most of them don't even have BD installed for testing. Even Matt Woodward, who does use BD, reported that the new sample Mach II app "MachBlog" didn't work on BD and he was working thru a number of code changes to make it BD-compatible - because of bugs in BD. The FarCry community was celebrating recently because BD7 finally became compatible enough with CFMX that FarCry 4 will run on BD7. I mentioned Railo in all seriousness on the assumption that you'd already decided to use something other than CFMX. I have no idea how compatible Railo is but their website boasts FB5, Mach II and Model-Glue all run on it. The bottom line here is that CFMX is the gold standard against which all the frameworks are developed. -- Sean A Corfield -- (904) 302-SEAN An Architect's View -- http://corfield.org/ "If you're not annoying somebody, you're not really alive." -- Margaret Atwood -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- Reactor for ColdFusion Mailing List [email protected] Archives at: http://www.mail-archive.com/reactor%40doughughes.net/ -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- --
