This is all well and good, and is the way Reactor is meant to work.
It also proves the DB is fine as the insert is fairly quick.

Thanks to the help I've received here I've eliminated a lot of possible
variables.

Something is making MG think it needs to start again from scratch. Maybe
there
is an URL variable of some sort, something in an Application.cfm or
similar -
I'm sure you said the MG variables themselves were set correctly.

I'll look at those possibilities.

Asking on the/a MG mailing list might get things resolved faster - I'm
certainly no MG expert !

I did that this morning after you said we had eliminated Reactor.. I haven't
received a response yet.

One idea would be to run the MG app once, then add code just before
readFields
that throws an exception. Then run the app again, and the stack trace from
that exception should include whichever line in MG it is that is saying
'time
to refresh'.

I had already thought of that and am walking back through the stack at this
time. This process really made me wish we had a step through debugged.
That's one session I'm definitely going to attend at CFUnited this year.

Thanks a ton to you and Doug and the others for your help with this. At
least now I can focus on Model Glue.
