Language Reference for REALbasic 2006 (January 10, 2006; 21:52) states at bottom
of page 191:

Adding Text to an EditField
When appending text to an EditField, you may notice some flicker as REALbasic
redraws the EditField to show the new text. This will happen if you appended the
Text property of the EditField like this:
EditField1.Text=EditField1.Text+"my new text"
</quote>
In the embedded Language Reference, in the EditField Control page, we can see -
below the Methods entry - the AppendText Method that say (once you click in the
entry):

EditField.AppendText Method
Appends the passed text to the current Text.
Syntax
EditField.AppendText text
Parameters
text String
</quote>
go figure...
The worst is that I do not found the AppendText Method in the Release notes :(
and I had to go to the REALbasic 2006r1 html language reference to be sure that
I wasn't dreaming while I was thinking that Method exists (in REALbasic)...
