To those that are frustrated with the REALbasic IDE:
If you experience frequent crashes or minor project corruption, run a
check of your RAM using the free memtest utility for Mac OS X (or a
similar utility for other platforms).
I was experiencing frequent crashes in the IDE; crash logs pointed to
"doOSalloclen". I played what is by now a familiar game: Blame
REALbasicâ„¢.
Turns out those crashes were caused by this bad RAM; REALbasic was
the major victim, assumedly because of the memory-intensive
operations it performs.
So if you are experiencing kernel panics and random application
crashes, check your RAM. Believe it or not, it can happen to you! I
thought bad RAM was something that happened to Other People, but now
it happened to me too. ;)
