And if it can turn in better times for one client who has queries that run
into 15-20 minutes...I'm there.

Did you already perform tests with PostgreSQL while thinking about
your migration and if so do you have a database that holds
representative data? I could see what I could do to speed up that
particular query in PostgreSQL if you wanted.
