Until RS [very recently] [officially] announced that they will be
supporting Intel builds, you couldn't have possibly promised your
clients that your apps will all go Universal by day X, right?
So June 7, 2005 is very recently in your opinion, right?
Ok, not very recently. But recently. 6 months is next to nothing on
my schedule - which is only underlined by the fact that I thought the
announcement was like 4 weeks ago. :-)
On the other hand, it doesn't really even matter how long ago they
said it. And if they'd have given a solid timeframe for *when* Intel
compiles would be available, that still wouldn't entice me to tell my
clients I'll be ready a month or two after that. As a RB user I
*know* from experience that actual transitions don't tend to work as
smooth as announcements.
My customers use my software primarily because of what it can do for
them. Now if I had software that does not run under Intel and I knew
all my clients are throwing out their PPC macs and putting in Intels
in the next 2 or 3 months, I'd maybe be concerned.
But then again - Apple has always said that only if you use XCode,
will you always be prepared to follow their changes and transitions
quickly. I chose RB and so therefore I expect things to be a bit more
choppy at times. RS announcement about Intel support gives me the
peace of mind that I'll be able to support Intel Macs. That's all I
need to know.
Besides, my Windows users really don't give a hoot one way or the
other - and I wouldn't have any of those if I'd been using X-Code.
Choose your poison.

Juergen
