OK, So you're talking on the phone to my grandmother and she has her
firewall on and is behind a router. How do you get her to set up a
VNC client so it listens on port 5500? You won't be able to. That's
the point.
As for integrating anything VNC into BSS, um, no. VNC is open source
and used by millions. I wonder why it hasn't been adapted to an easy
P2P model yet. I always thought that's why open source was so good.
As for your filmed test... I would suggest reading BSS's RTFM. Two
criticisms: (1) The "get into preferences" gripe is addressed in the
manual, and a reason is given. (2) You complain that the text of the
remote screen is unreadable. Well, again, this is addressed in the
manual. It's actually a feature. I would have expected in that
someone with any technical knowledge and reading ability would be
able to at least offer an explanation of why BSS and VNC differ in
your setup. Heck, my Mom could, and she's definitely not technical.
But she did spend 5 minutes reading the manual ;-).
Anyway, enjoy VNC! I'm sure your customer will love you for it!!

Brad, you do not.
I, like you, thought that you had to.
I, like you, thought it would be good if I did not have to set up
the remote
side to port forward.
After trying your product, I went looking on how to do it with VNC.
You set up a vnc client to listen mode, on port 5500.
You then make an application that dials back to that port, using
the same
idea that you have to have one static, somewhere, so it may as well
be on
your network.
Once you have control on the other machine, connecting via vnc back
to is
simple.
I agree, setting up a p2p system is better than client server, and
once
again, I thank you for your idea.
I'd like to screen BSS implement the RFB protocol as well, so that
it can be
used with clients who prefer VNC.
