Or I can follow the actual trend: think Windows / Windows rules all... and use bmp in all platforms (Linux, Macintosh and Windows).
Did I told you why I do not want to use JPEG ? Destructive compression sheme. I do not (really) saw a difference with the original on the Macintosh, but once I display the images on the Pentium IV machine... it's incredible how the compression sheme is visible !
